Saint Sheetz is deeply concerned about the growing rates of suicide worldwide.  Mental disorders, physical disorders, and substance abuse are common risk factors for suicides. Some suicides are impulsive acts driven by stress (such as from financial or academic difficulties), relationship problems (such as breakups or divorces), or harassment and bullying.  More than 720,000 people die each year from suicide worldwide according to the World Health Organization.  Suicide is the leading cause of death for ages 15 - 29 year-olds with males at higher rates than females. 

Because we care about mental health and believe every person has value with such great potential, we have partnered with a nonprofit that focuses on preventive initiatives to reduce suicides instead of reacting to suicide after-the-fact or programs that try to prevent at the moment of most distress.  We need more than just hotlines.  We believe prevention is vital in making sure no one reaches the point of no return.
